It's basically a mix of 1, 3, 4 and 5's "weapons can only be used by certain classes" and 7, 8, 9, 10, and 13's "Everyone has their own unique weapon sets."
Which does make sense with the whole "equip a weapon to equip a class" mechanic. That said, I would love if we got some sort of class that was ranged and equiped a shield for mechanics. Far as I have ever seen, it's an very under represented theme that could make for an interesting class/job.
Same with the tank pieces that are Head+Body and Legs+Boots.
If you're a caster and you're getting hit, you're probably going to die quick, regardless if you have a shield or not.
Well in the case of Primal weapons, they implemented two-handed variants of the one-handed caster weapons. Garuda drops a wand for WHM, but it can be converted into a cane at no cost in Revenant's Toll.
I am aware.
But I like the one handed aesthetic on blm.
