FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

weird error code launcher all of a sudden
"a system error has occurred: -2146697211"

I was just playing, exit game, cooked dinner etc., come back try to launch the launcher as usual (been playing for well of a week btw) and now for no apparent reason i get that code.

Any idea whats going on or how to fix it?

I'll try rebooting to begin with but its weird as hell.

Edit : also i notice the official forum, ffxiv account pages are also unreachable using edge.
I tried sites like 'downformeoreveryone', they also say its down.

Could that be somehow related?

Well i've checked several sources, ziggo does seem blocked and i cant see why.
Ziggo service center (or the tech. support) also is unable to reach their sites and they too see they are being blocked, they dont get why lol but it does seem to be true.

However the webcare are idiots, telling us to contact SE.. which is impossible as every support site is unreachable and i have no idea what their number is or email.
Ended up using my phone as a hotspot, could access all sites again like that but its not a solution.

Anyway submitted a ticket, hope someone checks it out but i got a bad feeling about it.

I'm also with ziggo, and also blocked...

Kind of wierd that a whole ISP got blocked like this, seems a VPN is the only way to get around it right now.

well it gets weirder.

Using phone as hotspot (so thats 4g/3g) not using ziggo : i can connect to the sites etc.
Using tablet on the SAME ziggo network : i can connect.. yes thats right..

But pc? i cant connect, its the same network as tablet so there shouldnt be a difference.
I've reset modem to be sure, same results.

So i thought maybe its chrome? As im using edge on the PC but chrome on tablet.

However if that made the difference, i wouldnt be able to access it using my phone as a hotspot.

I'm totally stumped.
Specially the tablet thing is really throwing me off, unless its redirecting to a mobile site somehow? even though it doesnt show it in the adress its the same as on pc, but thats the only extreme thing i can think off.

I used a VPN to log in. Let's just hope they fix this mess soon.

I used a VPN to log in, You can use the trail version at tunnelbear to log in (If you don't have a VPN) using the Irish or UK tunnel then afterward turn the VPN off (once your in the server), it gives you acces but it's some effort, seeing once your in the game you don't get kicked off anymore. I was a little too hasty claiming tablet works fine, i mean yes i can load in the "front' pages which on pc wont work, however if i try to continue on the site (like support site) and login it will timeout.

So sadly there is more going on here, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ziggo..

i Sincerley dont believe that square enix would block an entire country or atleast a chunk of the player base, it makes no sense.
I still believe Ziggo has issues with their DNS servers or whatevr since the weather is stormy.

That could be a different problem, as the whole ziggo whatevertheFwasgoingon-thing, has been resolved sometime in the night.
