It is a huge leap from rogue. I remember rogue was fairly easy to learn but when you hit ninja, its a whole new game
Tip: dont use macro for your mudras. It is way to slow. You will have to memorize it for quicker dps
would using macros for moves and then having mudras assigned per macro work (mudra used manually)?
It will but inefficiently. And if someone knows about it, you will be told to not do that anymore.
this is sounding like a hassle, but fun. going to be a nusiance though since i turn of the giant pop up window that tells me what the move is, its damage, etc etc. rather just print everything out and highlight things then have that window up all the time blocking view
I do play ninja fairly regularly and I have to say, it was a nightmare to learn the rotation at first, but I'm having lots of fun with it.
What Shadezz said is false btw (he probably meant well), Ninja is a great dps, but out of the three melee ones, it's the most support and utility oriented (Monk is more like a "pure dps" class).
At level 60 you can somewhat control aggro, do decent AoE damage, do a cool backstab move to the boss that gives him a strong vulnerability debuff that your other party members can gladly and happily use, apart from that, it has hectic gameplay where you need to keep track of several things.
Easiest way to explain it is, you manage to put up your dots and then it's a game about keeping the vulnerability and the dots up, while you maintain your Huton, while you do mudras (by hand oh lord I use some useful macros but don't ever do mudras on macros, they're like 3x slower, besides why would you want to? That's no fun), while you do those damage combos.
But yeah, Ninjas are valued by parties because they can bring the slash debuff, the vulnerability debuff and Goad to restore TP of another party member, as I already said, the most support and party oriented melee dps class there is at the moment.
I'm going to be honest with you, I saw a lot of bad ninjas and very few good ones, but if you want to take a stab at it (lol) prepare to spend at least some hours at the mannequin once you hit 50, but man, in the end it's worth it, the flow of a good combo paired with mudras makes it addicting to play.
Every rotation can be mastered if you put enough time in it, but I would say it's between medium-hard, to play properly that is.
Unless you want a messy Hotbar like mine. Though it's outdated and I did some hotbar organizing. This was 2 Years ago.
