Entry vs. Standard?
I'm going to buy 1 month of subscription and was wondering which I should buy.

Entry. You only need one character.

But if you were subbing for Standard... it costs the same as Entry [Standard 180 days = Entry plan, on a per 30 day basis] so if you know you want more than 1 character and don't mind subbing 180 days at a time... same costs as Entry.

Allthough if he will be aiming for true end game experience he will have to switch for normal sub later on to secure all specialist jobs and more BiS jobs.

In what way is crafting the true endgame experience? And what job would have crafted gear as BiS at this point?

Crafting has its own endgame and By BiS job I meant not being stuck with 1 class due to weekly reward locks.

I have like...six classes all geared up enough to get into any content in the game, none of which are using crafted gear, so I don't know what you're talking about.

Oh, and as for being stuck with only one class, that only applies to Monk, Ninja, and Lancer. Every other class in the game shares gear with at least one other class, except for weapons. (Even Monk and Lancer share accessories, while Ninja shares accessories with Bard and Machinist) Because of that, three of those classes I mentioned are healers.

And in any case, that doesn't make it best-in-slot, just the most readily available.

Good point. But you would need more characters to get more than 3 specialists. I would still use the 'token' gear... just because I like having 8 unique sets of gear. Only what? 9 weeks... per job. Then I'd have to add mats... per job.

Bah, Ironworks generic is good enough ^_^.
