I am trying to add in stuff like, Steel Cyclone and Decimate, to help wtih better clears, But I can't really stack Wrath or Abandon in a sustainable rotation without 1-3 Mobs Jumping onto my teammates.
I see about, this semi rotation, to see how it will work, but I feel it maybe still inefficiant.
Litterally it is Unleash x2 > Blood Price > Darks Arts > Abyssal Drain. That I can actually go through many different Such as DA Soul Eater combo, DA Carve and Spit, Keep Dark Passanger and Salt the Earth on CD, that it clears most of the wave before I really need to do another Unleash or Abyssal.
You grab 10 Mobs, and you do DA Abyssal Drain, you do 1,200 Potency overall, but it is still 120 to a single target, but if you do a DA Soul Eater and a DA Carve and Spit that is a 870 Potency, but that is to a single target, and that Target is now Easier to Kill.
It is a reason why, players don't focus, on Spread Shot, Ring of Thorns, Doom Spike, Fire II, etc. When taking care of these large pulls, Because it is faster and more effiecient to focus on killing Each Target 1 at a time.
But then again you looking at it as a Overall. Overall, yes it is more damage, But again that is a 120 per Skill to a single taget compared to a compared to 266.7 to a Single Target. It is good to weaken a group but is Inefficient in clearing them unless they were completely weak like the FIre Sprites in the first dungeon you ever play. While in theory it should take them down faster, overall, it is taking them down slower.
I have done this with my Dragoon in Baelsar's Wall, The Final Run to the Final Boss where, the Tank can pull 3 groups of Mobs. I done the mix of RoT and Doom Spike and I have done the Runs in which I focus on my ROtations for Geirskugol procs, which is 1 out of 2-3 Rotations.
All in all, it took a lot longer for the RoT and Doom Spike to clear the Group then it did the Geirskugol single target rotations, even though in theory, I am still doing a 1000-1600 Potency per skill, for all those units.
And I have seen throuhg my runs as a Dragoon, and as a Dark Knight, focusing on completely AoE abiltiies, has been the least efficient in all my clears,
all you will be able to do in 10 days from now is spam overpower. and try to get a decimate in here and there or a steel cyclone if you manage to build up the gauge needed.
everything else is basicly a thing of the past. vengenace is still useful tough. but thats pretty much it for 4.0 onward : SPAM overpower for aoe emity and rotate CDs for defense pop berserk now and then. its not like you can do much else without needing huge amount of gauge first which takes too long to build on trashpulls in dungeons.
