FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

Do you still need to complete the entire campaign to play the Expanion?
Just not of the bat , meaning you need to do all missions from the base game to the 2nd expanion to play this (3rd expansion) ?

One of the reason I never got to enjoy this was I couldn't put in the hours to play this to catch up to other players . Hoping that's not the case

They're going to implement jump potions for that. It'll cost you $25 to skip ARR and Heavensward, and another $25 to get a class to level 60 to actually be able to play Stormblood.

Alternatively you could just play the game like normal, since they have a lot of incentive for higher-level players to go back into early-game content.

The thing is, Final Fantasy 14, really loves it's story. And as such, to Go into Heavensward (a.k.a First Expansion) you have to complete the entire game, Main Story Quest, and the Story Quest from 2.1 to 2.55 Storyline. THis also locks you out of Expansion only Jobs, Dark Knight, Astrologian and Machenist, as they are in the Heavensward area and only Access after 2.55 quests.

For the Second Expansion, to get into the 2nd Expansion areas in Stormblood, is locked away from entrance unless you completed Heavensward Main Story Quests, and the Dragonsong War Story Quests (3.1 to 3.56). On the Upside though the New Classes Released for the Expansion, Red Mage and Samurai, are eligable to obtain after you completed the Base Game Main Story with the Quest Ultimate Weapon.

Their will be Jump Potions for people who wants to Skip the Storyline to Heavensward ($15) or Skip to Stormblood ($25), but Be Warned, the Jump Potions do not increase your Level, or your Gear to actually go Through the Areas without Dying.

Their is a Jump Potion for Leveling ($25), to be a level 60 Player with Gear strong enough for Stormblood but again be warned it is Seperate from the Storyline Jump, you will still have to go through the story or buy the Story Potion with it (a total of $50.00)

The price of the potions it to encourage the players to play the story (and learn the game and class better).
Some don't really like the story others, like me, really loved it.

But with more expansions it is also to allow new players to catch up.

While it would take some time, it wouldn't be far too much. (they thought about adding smth like a free boost or cheaper later on with more expansions)
