Is this running on Win 11?

Hey all,

Been itching to revisit this game. Is it running on Win 11? If not, are there fixes?

I could just install it and find out, but I am a father with two jobs and my time is so limited that I want to make sure I am not wasting it looking for band-aids for broken games.

No need to get that complicated...
The games DOES crash on Windows 10/11, but the fix is super easy: just right click on the .exe file, set it to run in compatibility mode for XP (pack 2), and... And nothing else.

Really? I ended up just grabbing the trilogy on GOG, even though I own it here. Would prefer to just play it here. That sounds like an incredibly easy fix.

this did not QUITE go as smoothly as you indicate but seems to at least prevent DS from crashing permanently.

I am running DS on Win10 and it crashed after maybe every 1 or 2 hours of play EVEN after doing the suggested fix with the compatibility mode. The strange thing is that after I installed the LOA expansion, the game doesn't crash anymore? They must have updated something in LOA that had made it not crash anymore.

I think the poster meant to add that as a separate step but didn't; I can only assume guides as in steam guides for this game.
