Can't get the game to even load. Says "Gathering Exception Data"
I can't get the game to work. The moment I click on it it goes to a loading screen then crashes. I went into the game file and tried running it under Windows 7 with no luck. I also tried running it under Administrator mode. I read that changing the shadows to simple helps but how do I do that if I can't even get in the game. Please Help!

Look through the Guides there are multiple fixes for all.

To change to simple shadows, launch the DSVideoConfig application in the Dungeon Siege 1 folder and change the setting in that.

You can change the setting for the shadows by right clicking on the game in library, click manage and then browse local files. Once you have the file open choose DSVideoConfig.exe, there you can change the settings for shadows.

If that still doesn't work I maybe have another solution.
I have Windows 8.1 btw.
And I tried so many different things, compatibility mode, simple shadows, etc.
But the only thing that really worked was downloading something called dgVoodoo 2.
