TO THOSE OF YOU RUNNING KILLAH FIX AND GETTING THE EXCEPTION DETECTED ERROR AFTERA COUPLE MINUTES OF PLAY:

1. Download DgVoodo2's newest version.
2. Extract DgVoodo2cpl and all 3 files in the MS folder into your dungeon siege directory.
3. Open DgVoodocpl. Then go under the direct X tab and set fast memory enabled, and using 1024 mb of video memory.
4. Open DungeonSiegeVideoConfig or whatever it's called.
5. Set the video driver to the DgVoodo wrapper.
6.?
7. Profit.


This finally fixed all my issues with the game, so I don't crash anymore! My OS is windows 10, Graphics card is RX480 amd card.

followed all directions.. didnt work for me. Just froze the screen on start up of new game.

forgt to take out the three files in the MS folder. Did it and now game works beautifully. Thank you so much for this fix, nothing else would work!! Thanks again.

I'm a newcomer trying Dungeon Siege for the first time, installed Killah's fix and the game froze. Got it running by disabling the shadows, but with this the problem is solved. Thanks a lot!

I'm not getting the Exception Detected error but I experience crashes at random moments, would this fix help with that?
I downloaded the file but when I tried to extract them was prompted for a password.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm not great with tech stuff and I really miss playing DS.

There isn't a legal way to get the expansion digitally though.

Then they should have bundled the expansion with the Steam version. It's stupid to leave something like that out of a Steam game. People want expansions and DLC, especially for older games.

You could at least buy the expansions then download the patch so you can at least say you own them. That's what I did. Just saying, $5 each on Amazon.

Your logic is very dangerous btw. Sad you don't see such. No offense, but this whole I want, so i get culture is pretty pathetic and will be the death of society eventually. Not that we are all not guilty of it in some way shape or form. Guess that is just part of being human.

expansions - $5 each on amazon.

total - $15

if you can't spend $15 on a game then you shouldn't be gaming.

The patch is a bit off anyway. Steam keeps doing random updates to the base game, which makes my save files corrupt. I cannot find a way to get them to work. I copy the saves, reinstall the patch and put the saves back into the directory. The patched game tells me I have no save games, even though the saves were from the patched game. essentially have spent almost 40 hours playing chapters 1 -3.

Yeah no. The company who made the game (Gas Powered Games) no longer exists. They aren't losing money anyways. I want the expansion for the game that isn't properly patched on steam despite me paying for it. Get off your moral high horse and quit being a condescending douchewad. There is no gurantee I can even use the expansion with the steam version anyways.
