How many monsters do you think there are?

Now you may think it'd be simple, count every encounter and NPC, but there are also tons of buildings in the backgrounds of New home and Ruins, implying there are a LOT more monsters than the ones we meet.

so how many do you think there are in total?

I'd say it's likely somewhere in the tens of thousands in reality. An exact number would be impossible to say for certain. Not to mention that monsters can vary in size quite drastically (IE: the micro-Froggit in the Ruins and the various spiders under Muffet).

makes me wonder how monsters even came to be, considering they are made of magical dust and are full of variety.

10,001 is the highest i've ever seen for it

add to this that multiple people may watch his show from the same tv in addition to the fact that some may not watch him at all is how i got my estimate

I've seen it go higher if you do something like posing, eating MTT themed food, or changing outfits as close as possible to 10k.

I want to say that if you purely do boasting and flawlessly dodging attacks then you'll likely only get up to around 10k.
