Who calls in the lab? (True Pacifist content)
At the very end of the True Lab, right before you enter the elevator that leads you back to Asgore's Castle, who calls you on your phone? The game tells you it's a "voice you don't recognize." I didn't recognize the text sound either, even after finishing the true end.

Flowey

It's Flowey speaking as Asriel, since the true end reveals that's who he truly is.

If my memory is any good, "see you soon" is something that Flowey seems to say often. Sans, on the other hand, seems to say "see you later." I might just be remembering a one-off thing, but there was a time that I thought it might be important.

I would have thought it was obvious who was calling. Who's a character you hadn't met yet, and who gets introduced as a result of doing all that?

It's Asriel.

You can piece it together from the video tapes in the lab. It's the same "voice".

At that point in time though, he wasn't Asriel yet. He only became Asriel after absorbing all of those souls. Do I just sum it up as "spacetime shenanigans?" I'd accept that honestly, but with just a bit of "eeeehhhh." Seeing as it IS his voice on the phone though, seems like that's it.

Is that really the same sound as his voice though?
Sounds different to me.

It's the voice of the more "adolescent" Asriel. If you listen to the text effect during the first phase of the final battle (where all attacks are "named"), you might recognize the sound. Still doesn't make much sense to me, though.

Oh I see. Well flowey does regularly switch voices, I guess he could do that.
How does he know that human souls + monster souls = real form though?
And how does he even eat anyone other than toriels and asgores souls anyway?
Those are the only "boss monsters" and only those have have edible souls.

All he should know, all we know, is that he'll become some nonspecific deity with 7 human souls.

Well, he doesn't kill all the monsters.

He just absorbs them and uses them as batteries.

Ever seen the Matrix?

Imagine the fields.

It's his voice when you fight him in his god form.

flowey can change his face and voice. he really seems to enjoy doing toriel, for some reason.

remember the bit about having a human and monster soul in the same body giving that power?

you're mangling the bit about monster souls. only boss monster souls can persist after death. i dont think alphys ever esperimented with draining a soul out of a still living monster directly into a vessal. all of her experiments were with "fallen down" monsters, which seems to be a kind of coma monsters go into just before they die of natural causes.

the real question is how everyone got restored (not really, just a sec...) because alphys also noted that monster bodies disintegrate when the soul is removed. the easy answer, of course, is asriel just used hyper god powers.
