How do you fight asgore?

Here's a tip from a person who is still battling goat dad. Don't go out of your way to go around and find monsters. Just grind on the ones near the Mettaton boss. It's near and efficient, and then go to Burgerpants to get starfaits. ^-^

and no Kevin, the title is not a spoiler. I'd bet almost all people coming here for tips are literally searching "how to fight asgore". And, even if they had seen this title without searching for it explicitly, it wouldn't be telling them much anyway. You fight almost everyone in this game...

...you do realize that it's impossible to fight at all if you're already at asgore, don't you...
