[spoilers] Stupid Sans question
Hoi folks. I can never remember how much text I'm supposed to put here to keep spoilers from showing up in the preview. So I just type more or less whatever comes to mind in the first few lines, and then put a bunch of single period lines after that. With any luck, I'll never screw it up.

OK Good enough.

OK, so I'm watching a Sans genocide fight again on youtube because I'm a bad person. Right after he says his line at the start of the fight, the letters "KR" appear between your HP gauge and your numerical HP value. What the hell does KR stand for? This is the only fight where the HP works the way that it does, so I imagine it has something to do with that. But unless it gets explained somewhere else in the run, I have no idea what that's trying to tell me.

Oh, I never noticed that. I have no idea what it could stand for, but it probably has something to do with the 'purple' health bar that depletes much more slowly than your regular health in that battle only.

I assumed it meant Karma. "You felt your sins crawling on your back." It acts as sort of poison system.

I think "Karma" is probably a winner. Unfortunately, I don't know of anywhere in the game where that word is used, so it's probably just a throwaway thing relating to the way HP work in this fight. No deep meaning here.

Although I assumed that the lines about your sins related more to your blue heart during this fight. Your sins weigh you down, and so you have to jump around.

KR probably stands for "Kill Rate". Or as I have seen,"Karmic Retribution".

I'm not going to even spoiler it, since the game spells it out during the combat.
"KARMA coursing through your veins."

I just realized. The KARMA mechanic is unbelievably clever.

The invincibility frames you get after being hit are called mercy invincibility. But in the Genocide run, you have no MERCY.

I'm really not sure, regarding that it stands for health in a way. It couldn't stand for Karma, because what would the R stand for? The only thing i could think that it stands for is Kill Ratio, not Kill Death Ratio, because even though the game takes SAVING into consideration, and Sans MENTIONS IT , it still wouldn't really make since. I'm assuming that this is an ongoing question, and your best bet to find the answer to this is probably by asking one of the game developers. Hope this helped.

FOUL NECROMANCY.

The most commonly accepted term I've seen for it is "Karmic Retribution" which is noted in this thread without having to bring it back from the dead.

Hope this helped.

KR means "Karmic Retribution"-Undertale Wiki. Which is the purple "poison" that depletes your HP.:steamsalty:

All of Sans's attacks use KARMA (KR). This effect drops invincibility frames to zero (allowing the opponent's attacks to potentially hit every frame or 30 times per second). It also applies a 'poison' effect to all attacks: getting hit by any attack for even one frame will not only inflict the one damage but also increase KARMA by some amount (depending on the attack). Whenever KARMA is above zero, it will eventually drain back down to zero in increments of one, with each drain decreasing the player's HP by one. While KARMA is above zero, it appears as a purple health bar overlaid on top of the usual yellow health bar and also causes the player's HP to be displayed in purple text instead of white.
Getting hit by multiple attacks in a row will cause the increases in KARMA to stack up. KARMA cannot exceed 40 and also cannot cause the player's HP to fall below one. The more KARMA damage is built up, the faster it will drain itself and the player's HP with it.
For example, getting hit by a certain attack for one frame will inflict one damage but may also build up KARMA by nine. This means that in the seconds after the assault, the player will continue to take one damage nine more times until KARMA is drained back to zero. If the player gets hit again by the same attack for one frame, KARMA will again increase by nine (even if it has not finished draining yet), causing the player to take one damage another ten times.
The items that increase INV, the Torn Notebook and Cloudy Glasses, will grant small fractions of INV during the Sans battle, with both items together increasing INV from zero to one-third (allowing the player to obtain a single frame of INV every three frames, such that Sans's attacks can hit 'only' up to 23 times per second instead of 30). Uniquely, they will also reduce the rate at which KARMA drains. NOTE: this is all from the wiki
