I know this makes me sound like a wimp, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the final boss seem less scary?

And I mean the FINAL final boss, not asgore. If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean. I am actually shaking as I type this. I'm too scared to open the game anymore, and I'm probably going to have nightmares for the rest of my life. The least I could do is get some closure. Anyone have any ideas on how to make the fight seem less scary? (looking for ideas similar to ProJared's "How to Make Slender Not Scary" video)

well it's important to know that flowey is as well developed as the other characters, there's a reason why he's acting the way he is and you'll finallly get to learn it after fighing

And even though the game has a lot of fourth wall breaking, you will always have a level of control he can never touch; you have ultimate power over the game, the things that he does are scripted, they are happening because they are supposed to happen

you can also imagine him as an obnoxious 13 year old using their piss poor photoshop skills to make himself scary. "what makes something scary? eyes?? I'l just... put a bunch of eyes???? and pokey cactus hands??"

The game jokes that cactus is the most tsundere plant but dang flowey is the ultimate tsundere

edit: also he's SUPPOSED to be jarring, so don't let people make you feel bad about it. Everyone has something that freaks them out. I love creepy horror stuff but I am a pathetic wuss when it comes to jump scares.

It's okay! God Flowey's form also took me be surprise. He definitely comes out of the left field because the game, up to that point, had been mostly friendly looking and tame! Don't feel bad.

Moving on, I think Sharpington put it best: The game may break the fourth wall a ton, especially with this battle, but you are ultimately in control. Everything is scripted, it's just a game, no matter how much it convinces you otherwise! Flowey can never hurt you.

And don't give up. Help will come to you when you need it. You're not alone in this fight.

I totally understand where you're coming from. You might wanna try looking up video's of people fighting the boss-creature abomination? It might decrease some of the "sting" so to speak. Honestly, when I fought against him, I felt kinda...disturbed too. You just gotta ease yourself into it.

My fear was more diminished by my curiousity though. I had a need to know what happened.

I think the most unsettling/fun part of that fight was the fact that he kept loading save states to beat you into the ground. Like, you aren't really fighting him, it's just a battle of patience.

As a gamer for 15 years, it's actually kind of refreshing to be completely baffled by a situation like that. I was just rebooting the game over and over again, just because I didn't want to give a fictional character the pleasure of defeating me physically (in the game) AND metaphorically.
