(SPOILERS)How to befriend Undyne?

Last time I ran towards the Hotlands and gave her some water, but she left and I didn't make friends with her. Did I do something wrong? I'm going for true ending, so I need to know how to befriend Undyne for that.

He called me and asked me about wearing a bandage, I told him no, so he told Undyne yes, but that's about all he did. I know for sure I didn't mess up Papyrus' story though. I went on a date and everything, so I'm 90% sure I did it right

It's next to the ghost's house? Remember where the snail race area was? It's in that area to the far left.

Wait, I don't understand- I got to the hotlands and brought her water. She walked away. When she was chasing me, Papyrus called and said that the three of us should hang out. I went and talked to Papyrus in his house, but the dialouge hadn't changed since the last time I was there. I knocked on Undyne's door and it said no one was home. What do I do?

What's supposed to happen is you go to her house and Papyrus will be standing outside waiting to introduce you to her.

You finished the date/hangout with Papyrus right? And you haven't killed anything (that might affect it but I'm not sure)?

From my experience it does affect undynes story if you killed someone.

Uh, so, I have kind of the same issue. So I beat Omega Flowey and Mercy'd him, and he told me to load up my save file and go find Undyne and befriend her. How does one do said thing?

nvm figured it out, you have to talk to papyrus in his room, not just his house.
