[HUGE SPOILERS]Help fixing Genocide route
Okay so, after finishing the genocide route and getting the horrifying ending, with the black screen that you have to wait for in order to sell your soul and continue, is there no way to restart completely?

I tried reinstalling the game, deleteing the appdata cache, but the black screen of death just keeps coming back and I can't stop, is there some hidden save data in regedit or something? I really don't want to do the pacifist run, because I know it'll end with a huge twist instead of the regular happy ending.

I know that I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself over with this one, but I'd seriously love some help if there's a way I can fully restart. It seems like if I choose no, I'd be stuck at the black screen and my game would just be bricked forever..

You just need to wait until you get the option to sell your soul. If you want a clean slate delete everything in appdata/local/undertale and uninstall then reinstall.

If you sell your soul though, your character will be permenanty possed by PLAYERNAME now even if you reset, doing a pacifist run effectively results in getting the worse ending in the game as it is implied possed you kills everyone.

So wait, we can't ever change our name and start over after doing a bad ending run? How can you do a genocide run and redeem yourself?

You can change your name but it doesn't matter since you sold your soul to PLAYER NAME to bring the world back. You can't redeem yourself once you've done a genocide run, that's the price you pay for being evil, unless you delete all your saves and do a clean install.

Though I haven't done it I heard doing genocide two times in a row ruins your game as you don't have a soul to sacrifice to bring the world back. Might not be true though.

But what do you mean by clean install? Deleteing the appdata folder, or is there something else you can do, that's much more cleverly hidden?

Deleting everything in your appdata folder seems to work. I just did with a souless pacifist run and everything seems back to normal.

I tried to delete the local app data folder, but when I reinstall I'm still returned to the previous save state. I hate to be a pain or sound stupid, but I can't find any save files to delete on my computer or in game.

Like... I appreciate the level of depth it means, but I want to experience the best ending, and I feel denied because I wanted to see every aspect of the game. >W<

Just do the thing with the black screen and wait 10 minutes sell your soul and once that's done with go and delete your appdata folder.

Just go to appdata and delete everything in it.

Then go and play the game again and everything should be before you ever played the game.
I'm a noob. Am I in the right place?
Steam> Steamapps> Common
Is that Undertale folder the "appdata cache"?
Or is that somehere else entirely? I'm pretty sure what I just deleted hasn't reset the game....

If you use Windows, go to Start and type in the search bar %appdata%, then go back a folder and go into the Local folder, UNDERTALE should be in there.

Never assume. Common sense is on par with super powers nowadays.
