I'm sure this information is available elsewhere, just wanted to make sure everyone knows that there is supposed to be a "Z" in-between the 5th and 6th notes.

Yes, there actually are at least 2 solutions. I tried both of yours and they both worked.

I used the Annoying dog in the room where you get it, he just absorb the orb and ran away, then he left dog residue in my inventory, i used the dog residue and now all my inventory is full of dog residues.
best game
