unfortunately I didnt have enough money to buy baked goods... I gave her nearly all my money when she attacked, do I just need to keep avoiding her attacks?

You never bought baked goods? Even the ones in the RUINS that were really cheap?
felicity hello!??? Sep 16, 2015 @ 11:00am
If you're trying to be a pacifist, just continue avoiding her attacks. You don't actually have to buy anything.

You don't have to, but knowing what each attack is from the preview sign helps. If you have trouble with the upcoming attack, you can pay her to make it less painful, it doesn't get easier to dodge but it doesn't hurt you as much.

EDIT: Also, struggling enough can cause her to give a discount, but this only happened to me once and then it kept saying "Nothing Happened!"

Then you just have to endure, be determined! She'll eventually be given a telegram from those spiders in the ruins saying you helped with their fund, apologize, and end the fight

That's fine, that's all I bought, too.

i wonder if this fight becomes impossible to do peacefully if you never bought any baked goods back at the ruins, though? if so then that's definitely really rough

It's actually possible to solve the fight peacefully without having bought anything from the spiders in the ruins. The telegram instead says that, even thought you were stingy with money, you didn't do anything mean to the spiders, so Muffet decides to let you go.

that's nice, then. :) that'd definitely be pretty cruel if the game locked you out of the good endings that early on without saying anything

Not sure whether it's because I bought more than one item in the ruins or because I bought the more expensive item, but in my case the telegram said the protagonist was really passionate about spiders.

Here's something to note If you eat a spider food during the fight Muffet will have different dialogue assuming you robbed the spiders until she gets a telegram from the ruin spiders

She'll also not fight you at all if you buy one of the extremely overpriced items being sold next to her. The only real way to do that, though, is doing the piano puzzle and getting the dog residue to constantly sell all but one at Tammie Village, then using it to refill your inventory and repeat

you only get a couple coins per each residue. Is it really any more efficient to do that instead of buying Clouded Glasses from Gerson and then selling them to the Tammie merchant, for a 20 coin profit each? Depending on how much space you have available (between your inventory and your boxes) you can get over 400 coins per trip easy.

You know, the notion of a cosmic ghost selling faded glasses was a great image in my mind. Thank you.
