Sans Fight While Pacifist?
Is there a possible way to fight Sans without going Genocide? Maybe editing something in AppData? Because these characters are too lovable, I can't go and kill them all. I just wanna fight Sans because the fight looks really fun, and the simulator for it is missing lots of features.
I'd probably just spare him when I got to the point when he's super sweaty.

I currently beat the game -- True Pacifist. I just want to know :p

Thanks for reading.

Nope you have to do a genocide run. :papyrus:

Nnnnope. Unless you modify the save file to treat everything like you were on a Genocide run (which is modifying a whole buncha numbers) or get a save file from someone else, you'd have to go through the pain to get the reward of a one-way ticket to hell and a very bad time.

Flowey's time machine has save presets for Undyne the Undying and the Sans fight. So just download a save from there. https://crumblingstatue.github.io/FloweysTimeMachine/

You could go and download some pre-saves from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Undertale/comments/3mng5i/spoilers_undertale_saves/
You just gotta move your current saves (file0, file8,file9 and undertale.ini) into another folder as a way to back them up.

I never got the 'characters are too lovable' arguement as a reason to not run genocide. And I do actually like the characters, but I also felt nothign when I killed them...except for glee when I killed Papyrus anyway.

You can quite literally restore their lives with a reset so it's not like you killing your best friend in reality, they get unlimited chances at their short scripted lives. XD;

They don't come back with a reset. A new timeline starts. Everyone that you murdered in that timeline? Yep, all dead. Nothing you can do about it.

Here's "Bad Time Simulator". You can simulate having a bad time without actually having a bad time.

Eh that's "ok" ^^ but it doesn't feel as smooth as the actual sans fight.

Yet they have the same dialogue and stand in the same spots... so it really doesn't change much anyway. :v

This is just a game so there is no 'timelines' that literally exist, not to mention after a genocide run it uses a "true reset" and not a regular ol basic "reset"

There's still a permanent consequence tho. Pretty drastic one at that, from the game's perspective. I mean after a geno run, all your subsequent pacifist runs are ultimately ruined because Chara just takes over Frisk's body and then it's safe to assume he murders everyone.

No, there is no way to have a pacifist Sans battle. ALTHOUGH, I have noticed, that in the official soundtrack, "Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans" is a song that never plays in the game, but still is an actual song. It's after "Undertale", the song that plays when the monsters tell you the story of Asriel. This means Sans was originally supposed to be fought in the pacifist/neutral runs... but at that point... and now, it has been cut. I just found that interesting, because he decided to cut the fight entirely! Probably because of the surprise in the genocide run of how badass he is.
