Dusty Hands
If you're on a genocide run, why does papyrus say your hands are dusty?

if you already know this, then read on. if you don't know what happens to monsters when they die, don't read further unless you wanna be spoiled.

i think its because of how monsters turn to dust when they die, and if you kill a monster, the dust spreads onto your hands, much like blood from a human.

If you read the lore in the caves and info in the library, it tells you when a monster dies, they turn to dust. Essentially it's like blood on your hands.

Long as we're drawing attention to the dust thing, here's some food for thought: What's the one other thing in the whole game that's referred to as being covered in dust? Give up? The Dusty Tutu armor. Guess the former fallen humans weren't all great people, eh?

The ashes of monsters who died are sprinkled over their favourite thing. It is likely that after the humans died they were cremated and sprinkled over their used equipment.

The humans that died in the underground weren't cremated though. They were mummified in coffins in New Home's basement.

Wait.... is it in theory possible to get a monster back (without compassion) if one would inject determination again in the item of choice?

Now imagine a papyrus in his scarf without compassion....brrrr....
When monsters die they turn to dust. It's basically like being caught with blood on your hands.

Well, he would actually be the scarf, not wearing it. Imagine how bad that might be, trapped as a scarf for all eternity...

Flowey was created from the flowers that Asriel died on. By doing exactly that. This is what Alphys experimented on in ther true lab after resurrecting monsters with determination failed.

I think that injecting DT in a flower only worked because it was already a living thing, just one without a soul. It probably wouldn't work so well for an inanimate object, and if it did the result might not be pretty for the subject. Like, even less pretty than they were for Flowey.

Then imagine a glass of water filled with the dust of a monster.... and then determination in it...

Argg i got no soul thinking of this x)

I don't think it'd work. When a monster dies, their body turns to dust, and their soul disappears with the exception of boss monsters, but even then their soul doesn't last very long after they've died. Adding determination postmortem wouldn't really do anything since determination is just what keeps the soul from disappearing after the body dies. As for adding determination before they die, not entirely sure what effect it has on the soul, but monsters' bodies can't handle that much determination, it causes them to melt.
