True Pacifist Ending? Did I Cheat the Game?
SPOILERS MAYBE YEAH PROBABLY

People keep saying you have to play it again to get the "true pacifist ending" after a neutral/pacifist run, but I'm pretty sure I got it on my first try? I didn't kill a single monster. Not Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, Muffet, Asgore, Flowey, weird Omega Flowey that haunts my dreams, or Asriel, not single thing killed!!! After I saved the gangs souls (Skelebros, the Dremurrs, Undyne, etc) I went and talked to every NPC (I'm pretty sure I found every single one). After that, I took my friends up to the surface, and when Toriel asked me if I had a place to go, I said I wanted to stay with her.

Honestly I'm very happy with my ending, and from what the internet says, that's the true pacifist ending. But I cannot recall playing it again after a certain point to get the ending I did!
Can someone tell me from what point it is that you have to play it again? Did I miss something? Was the game just too fun for me to notice I was playing it over again? This is driving me batty- "Oh, my god, did you like... say my name???"
"Yeah like, it could've been my name too, yknow"
What no Catty, Bratty, please I'm trying to scream about Undertale on the internet.
"Oh.... Well... if you ever need to scream, maybe like, try screaming about our cool stuff you should totally buy"
"Yeah like.... you should TOTALLY buy it!!!"
ok thank you girls, anyways yes please help me understand the game and it's possible endings better!

THANK YOU :steamhappy:

If you didn't get the neutral run on your first run, how did you know that there is an Omega Flowey?

Because he appeared and I beat him? I honestly didn't play anything over again, unless reopening the game when Flowey closes it counts? This is exactly what I'm trying to figure out, because even when I reopened it after Flowey's frickin d*ckish actions, it just went straight to the Flowey dialogue and not to the main menu.

You don't need to restart the entire game. If you haven't killed anyone, the true ending will be avaible after Alphys' date and True Lab

Just load and make Undyne and Alphys happy.

...then you went through the neutral route. If you've done the things mentioned above then you did the True Pacifist route after the neutral route.

y'know what, and I mean this in the best way, I am probably just dumb. This game took such a weird emotional toll on me (I have crazy anxiety issues that flared up while encountering the Asriel Dremurr battle) that I would not be surprised if I just didn't realize that I was going back to saves and technically "playing again"

To be honest the best way is to start from the beggining. You can hear a lot of new dialogues and check few things which you have missed,

would starting from the beginning and playing it the exact same way (true pacifist) change anything though? I know that for some characters they will say stuff about how they faintly remember you and your actions, but besides that is playing it the same way again just good for noticing things you may have overlooked before?

I ve found a kind a fun to use phone in each area to hear Papyrus alone (first walkthrough) and Papyrus with Undyne (second walkthrough).
I ve checked everything twice to hear all of the dialogs and some events are RNG.

You can check everything by saving, loading, reseting. . Just like Flowey used to do it
