Can i spare Asgore on my first playthrough?

Im trying to do a True Pacifist run for my first playthrough ever, and i dont want to mess it up. Can i spare Asgore if it is my first time doing a playthrough?

Technically, you can't. After you almost kill him, you can choose to finish him or spare him. Flowey will kill him though, so it doesn't really matter. Spare Flowey at the end of your fight. Although that is the neutral playthrough. The pacifist playthrough requires you to NOT HAVE ANY KILLS and that you 'hang' with your buddies before you fight ASGORE. Date Papyrus, then talk to Undyne to have a cooking lesson. After that, talk to ASGORE then you should be good.

Compete the game once without killing anyone. You need to fight Asgore and Omega/Photoshop Flowey, then press the mercy button on them to stay on Pacifist. After Flowey saids to be friends with Alphys, reload your game and head back to MTT Resort to get a phone call from Undyne. Head back to Snowdin Town, and talk to Undyne. Deliver the letter in Hotland, give it to Alphys and you're on the date with her. After the date with Alphys, go back to Hotland to got to Alphys' lab, then go to the elevator to enter the True Lab.
