Starting a new game

[Ah! So Spider!]

Whenever i try to reset, it only tells me a name has already been chosen. But i want to check out the hard mode, so can someone tell me how to get a new name?/

I think you have to either finish a pacifist or genocide run to change your name.

When it tells you that a name already has been set, basically it's asking you if you want to keep it on your new run or chose a new one.

Assuming you're playing on windows, type %appdata% into the desktop search tab
>Upon hitting enter, it should take you to a folder titled "roaming"
>Click appdata to go back one
>Pick the "Local" folder

>Scroll down to UNDERTALE (yes it's all caps, can't miss it)

>Delete that folder (It won't damage your game, promise)

If you did everything right, after the splash screen, it should give you the instructions
you would normally find if you're playing for the first time. From there, allow you to rename yourself

Not true. If you click "No", it just sends you back to the title screen.

Supposedly there's a way you can, but I've tried said method (deleting the steam cloud save data) I've seen no improvements however.

The method above with the appdata will not revert the genocide effects by itself.

I just beat the game on the Pacifist route, but whenever I try starting a new game, all I get is Flowey asking me not to. How do I get past that?

Letting Flowey run through his speech should allow you to play after he's done. Unless it's some bug I'm unaware of. Normally reading past it should take you back to w/e screen it tosses you to afterwards. Which I would think is the intro.

I actually already started trying to do a true pacifist run, so yeah. And wondering if i'm close to getting the speed world record [More than likely not but w/e] because i've made it to hotland in like, an hour and a half-

You have a "True Reset" option at title screen that'll ask you a new name.
That's how it worked for me anyway.

Yeah but this will only appear when you get the True ending, it doesnt work with just a normal pacifist ending. Theyre the same concept ut you have to be "Nicer"
