Mettaton fight and the pacifist ending
does leaving mettaton a torso give you the neutral ending or does it still go for the pacifist ending. cause i may have just realized that leaving someone with no arms or legs may not exactly be the most pacifist thing to do

Well when it comes to Mettaton, should be good then. Alphys also probably commented something along the lines that it'd be fine.

The difference between pacifist and normal victories against Mettaton is how he actually dies.

He explains after the pacifist battle (even during a forced neutral run) that his form has poor energy efficiency and eventually will run out of power. Mettaton simply runs out of power to continue the fight. Alphys is glad for this, because it means all he needs is new batteries and some repairs.

The hostile battle results in you completely destroying Mettaton, irreperable damage. You "kill" Mettaton doing that. This makes Alphys depressed as a result.
