How to mute sound?
I prefer playing my own music when I play games, but I don't know how to turn off the sound.
Is there a special key I need to push or something?

It's all or nothing. You can open up your computer's Volume Mixer to mute Undertale specifically.

I recommend not muting it since the soundtrack's really great. It really helps immerse you. But, it's up to you.

You could probably open the Undertale.exe in 7-zip or something and put silent tracks in the place of the music files but yeah... the soundtrack is quite great. I would never do that.

Edit: It's possible it would break it of course, but that's what verify file integrity is for. But don't do it anyway, as several suggested.

But why mute soundtrack? It's awesome! I love Spider dance and Death By Glamour (Muffet and Mettaton battle)

I'm gonna mute it cause i'm just about to fight Undyne the Undying, and if I die more than once (I will), as awsome as Battle Against a True Hero is, it will get annoying.

right click your volume button, go to the mixer, you'll understand it from there. :p2cube::p2cube:

Try going into the game files and put all the files with 'mus' in a folder within the undertale folder. This will disable the music and then you can take them back out whenever.

Thank you so much Prometheus for understanding and coming up with an actual answer instead of criticizing the original poster for asking something. I'm so glad I found a way to turn off the sound, thank you SO MUCH

You have to download a third party volume mixer online.
