Sans has determination theory (SPOILERS!)

This is pure speculation that it have about sans based on info I've seen.

My theory is that sans has determination.
Anyone who has finished undertale taking the true pacifist route knows what determination is so I'll skip that. The reason I think sans has determination is based on 2 things.
1) In most scenes with him in it, he leaves from a way quite far from the exit. He also displays teleportation in a room in snowdin. Perhaps he is manipulating save files. He also knows what 'saving' is, as shown in one of the neutral endings. And anyone who's played undertale knows that save files work through determination.
2) He's short and chubby. This may seem irrelevant, but I don't think it is. I believe he's body was rearranged by determination. This happened to the amalgamates in the true lab. That's why he looks so different to his brother, Papyrus.

Think a change in the title of the thread would be appreciated since, while it is a theory, it uses some aspects of the story that would be considered spoilers.

1. Well it is true he can seemingly reappear and has the "shortcuts" which could mean he can teleport. But he is not able to mess with the save files.

2. I personally like the theory about Sans being human which would explain the chubbiness, don't think determination has anything to do with it. Undyne seems to have determination, but she is not deformed unless put to a limit.

Sans is able to record space time activity and found you and Flowey were "reseting" and "saving" alot. He was part of a team who tried to manipulate it with the machine in his house but stop because of the "gaster" incedent. That expains how he knows about that stuff, and ther is a lot of "Sans is a human" discussions explaining the Papyrus stuff.

Nah Undyne is the only monster with innate determination. That is her unique trait.

I think Sans is probably the least determined monster in the underground, which explains why he is so weak in terms of stats. Think about it, knowing your life can just end/be restarted so anything you do and any progress you make would've been put to waste will probably cause you to lose a lot of "determination" to do anything, hence why he is so lazy. He is only strong because he knows so much about us and the game he can abuse the game itself.

If he was human He could save/reset like you could. But he obviously can't otherwise he would have stopped genocide players with ease by just reseting the game when they get too far.

He dosn't have to be human to save/reset he just has to be more detirmened than Flowey or Frisk depending on the time, whitch is impossible be cause Flowey was given the determanation of a human and Frisk is a human. So Sans would have to be more determined tale the most determened being in the underground. :/

He KNOWS you can SAVE
He KNOWS you will never actually truly die.
He is just trying to delay the inevitable.

If Sans had Determination then why the heck didn't he free himself when he's captured by flowey, In fact, HE COULD DO THAT WITHOUT STUPID DETERMINATION!!!! HE KNOWS THAT KILLING FLOWEY WOULDN'T RESET TIME WITH FRISK PRESENT AND HE CAN SUMMON LAZERS WITHOUT MOVING!!!...

No, he is just chubby. Teleportation isn't explained by saving/loading. That's not how it works. If you load, the entire world gets reset. If Sans were to do this, you would be thrown back in time, not simply Sans vanishing. Sans has never been shown to be able to do that. When he tries to stop you in Genocide he claims to have detected fluctuations in the timeline and assumes it's you. That doesn't sound he has an awareness of the save/load process, but not the kind of knowledge that comes from being able to use it.

Meanwhile Flowey IS capable of saving/loading and he shows you this in his boss battle. Flowey also explains (before he becomes a boss and supercedes you) that he hasn't been able to save/load ever since you arrived. In other words, there's only ONE person capable in the world at any one time of saving/loading and that's the person with the most determination: you.

So Sans, with his dimished lack of knowledge of saving/loading compared to Flowey and you already having control over saving/loading, cannot possibly be capable of saving/loading.



Instead, the things that Sans does has already been explained by fan Theory: Sans is a scientist involved in quantum science and had a fellow colleague/supervisor once who experimented with timetravel. This man is called Gaster. Look him up.

Everything Sans does is basically breaking the laws of physics through his knowledge of quantum sciences and gadgets.

oke guys i am sorry but i have to debunk this theory the reason why Sans can teleport is because he has the PSI power

the power that NESS has in the earthbound games Toby Fox had made a earthbound halloween hack before undertale the halloween hack is actually in fact a prequel to Undertale it also explains the time machine thats hidden in undertale and in the same room you can find drawer that contains an album with Sans and a lot of people the protagonist doesn't recognize.
