Does Undertale stand a chance against Ocarina of Time?

Maybe. I wouldn't bet on it, though. I'd say we have about a 40% chance of beating OoT. It's already massively outvoting SMRPG, and I predict that when Undertale faces off against it, it'll start off around 42% vs 58%. Whether or not Undertale can come back from that, time will tell. Each side is going to be rallying their hardest, for certain.

Its tough to tell, honestly. I'm pretty sure OoT will win, but only time will tell.

Honestly I'd like it better if previous winners were excluded from future contests. Not because it'd give Undertale an easy win (Not by a long shot), but rather it doesn't give a chance to other games when we already acknowledged the popularity of those games.

Both of the previous winners, FF7 and OoT, breezed right into the quarterfinals, easily brushing off promising candidates like Super Smash Bros. Wii U. Heck, Hearthstone lost in the first round to OoT by a margin of about 83%. In fact, OoT's narrowest victory was its quarterfinal, winning by almost 20%, and the way the semifinal is right now, it's going to be even more anticlimactic. We already know the game's popular because the game's already won. But with it being able to re-enter it's just suffocating healthy competition at this point.

I hope this post makes sense.

I will support Undertale, as I have from the beginning. I thought many times it would be defeated but...it has claimed victory from many promising games, and I want to see it win. Not for the salt, but because it is a fantastic story and deserves it. Not that OOT was bad but...Sorry, it's just not as tightly written.

Umm....no i love both games very much but Ocarina of time sold so many copys and is practicaly perfect. Its a classic and sadly undertale will not be a classic as sad as that is to say cause im in love with this game ( love earth bound and Lisa) But this is a bit silly of a topic cause its not possible sorry <3

We will win, easily. Wanna know how? Those percentages mean nothing. Look throught the actual numbers, the highest Ocarina's gotten is around 40000-50000 votes in a single bracket. Last night against Melee, Undertale got 90000. Now it may be a fear factor that the other games had agains OoT that prevented them from rallying and the lack of competition that caused OoT to have a lower vote count, but look at that difference! We needed double the votes OoT needed just to get to the finals!

OoT is a great game, but it's nearly 20 years old and has plenty of accolades, it's time sonething new came along and claimed this (Pointless) Contest.

I don't know if it will win but I ran a little experimental poll in the message boards for the contest on GameFAQs (and chose the option for only allowing unique IP addresses and individual users vote) and even with those restrictions within 30 seconds of posting the poll Undertale had gotten 12 votes and OoT nothing.

This does not show how the contest will end, but it does show this is not solely a vote rallying phenomenon. Undertale will need all the support it can get to win Tuesday, but it's not GameFAQs vs. social media. Not even close.
