Types of runs? (No spoilers please!)

I hear you can play this game a couple different way.
For now I'm playing normally. I killed a couple enemies, but I'm giving most Mercy.
I hear this is the normal way?
Then there's a pacifist way where you do nothing.
And a genocide way where you literally kill everything?
So there's really three ways you can play this game?

Yup, but there are also other alternative normal endings, it all depends on who you kill off

I guess once I finish the game, I'll go ahead and try pacifist...then genocide. Then maybe some cool combinations :D.

Question: Will killing lesser enemies affect my ending? Or just major checkpoint bosses?
I'm talking like...random lowbies that you encounter.

there's a specific ending for being nicer than mr. rogers

there's a specific ending for being worse than hitler

there are endings for everything in between, mostly based on which major characters you off

just note that if you decide to go the genocide path the game will never forget what you did, and some endings might change slightly to reflect on that

Pacifist Run: Beat the game without killing anything, load your save, and do some additional content for a happier ending.

Mixed Run: There's at least fourteen variations. Depends on who exactly you kill and how much you kill. One of these variants is very close to genocide, but it's not genocide.

Genocide: You kill literally everything. You grind and kill until the game itself flat out tells you that there's no one left for you to kill in the zone and that it's time to move on to the next. Then you get touched for a couple of hours by two extremely hard bosses.

killing lesser enemies only effects your endings if you are going for complete murder or complete mercy, otherwise only killing/sparing plot important characters effects the endings

killing lesser enemies only effects your endings if you are going for complete murder or complete mercy, otherwise only killing/sparing plot important characters effects the endings

Killing a certain number of enemies will affect certain Neutral endings.
