Would this count as a pacifist run?
In the beginning of the game, a Froggit says that in a battle if you FIGHT or ACT until a monster doesn't want to fight anymore, use some MERCY. So if you choose to FIGHT then SPARE the monster would this count towards a Netural run or Pacifist run?

It would be Pacifist, but why would you want to do that? "I'm gonna beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of you to the point where you're almost dead and then spare you"

I was just wondering what would happen. I only did it once because I got curious when the Froggit said to use MERCY when you FIGHT.

As long as you end the fight with an action in the ACT or MERCY menu, you will not gain any EXP or have your LVL change, meaning you'll stay on the Pacifist path. If you end the fight by killing them (using the actual FIGHT option) then you'll ruin your Pacifist run, but it's okay to FIGHT then and then show MERCY.

Many minor enemies will be able to be MERCY'd once you lower their health enough, but be careful! You could end up killing them.

(The game actually determines whether you chose the Pacifist route or not by looking at your XP, as well as by seeing if you've done the "sidequests" for Papyrus, Undyne and Alphys (dating Papyrus by talking to him in his bedroom, hanging out with Undyne by going to her house on the top-left path in Waterfall, and delivering Undyne's letter to Alphys by talking to Undyne in Snowdin when she asks and then doing what she asks from there).

So, if you've done the sidequests and your XP is 0, you'll get the Pacifist ending. That means you can FIGHT a monster and then give it MERCY, but do not end the encounter by using FIGHT.)

It's pacifist just as long as you don't actually kill them, however Whimsuns and the first Froggit you encounter will die in one-hit I believe. So don't do that to them if you want a pacifist run.

I just started a Geno (as my second run) and I literally could not kill the first Froggit, so that can't be right. However, Whimsuns do die in a single hit.

I just restarted, and I could kill the very first Froggit in one shot.

If you don't one-shot that Froggit, and the other Toriel scares it away. That means you failed the genocide run.
