Genocide run help...

Man that sounds messed up.

Long story short its been 30-40 minutes and i havent found the Gyftrot encounter.

Long story long:
So im trying for a genocide run and i know the rues of how you have to beat all the encounters and i have been. however im snowdin i fought enemies in the first save area until it was down to 2 then there were no more encounters. I tried moving forward to see if id find more and fout the greater dog and the 2 royal gaurd dogs (just got the joke as i typed this -_-) andcrossed the bridge now all i get when i save is That comedian.. I know this may be a bug and all but now i havent had a single encounter. /the music is still freaky and all but i havnt fought the Gyftrot even though ive been walking is area looking for him.

so ye adid i screw it up? did he run away? Did he come to fight me trip in the woods fell in the river and be unfortunate enough to get hit by one of the giant ice cubes the ice chucking wolf throws got knocked unconcious and drowned??

So I walked around... forever and had no ecounters after the Gyftrot so after a good half hour or so i fought papyrus and his dialogue was back to the eutral route so obviously ive missed something but i cant get these things to trigger for the life of me
