River Person Gaster Referance Discussion
So ''Tra la la. Beware of the man who speaks in hands'' is obviously refering to Gaster. But what does "Tra la la. Beware of the man who came from the other world." hint towards? I find that it doesn't fit with Gaster enough. Gaster didn't come from another world... unless they mean an alternate universe? I dunno, thoughts?

"another world"? Sans is the obvious answer, given his link to quantum physics and the quantum theories of alternate universes...

I'd like to believe it's Sans, but just because he has seen everything and remembers other timelines doesn't mean he came from another universe/world.

When the skelly bros just appeared out of no where, it kinda implies that they are two halfs of Gaster since he dissapeared one day. But eh, I'm not sure.

Do you remember the photo of Sans in his workshop? It was him with people you had never met before, not even Papyrus is mentioned being in the picture... think about it.

There's also his Lost Soul dialogue during the Pacifist final boss fight. "Why even try." "You'll never see them again." "Just give up, I did." He gave up trying to get back to his universe...

They are most likely Lab assistance and Lab workers with Dr. Gaster. Once he was earsed from exsistance by falling into the core, everyone forgot about the previous royal scientist like he never was there. It's why you don't know them and it was probably along time ago. He says just give up because of the resets and stuff. And he will never see Gaster again. Not his universe. He knows the player keeps resetting over and over. It's why he wants to give up and stop trying because nothing matters. But like, that's just what I got from it. ^^:sans:

WD Gaster. WebDings Gaster. All the skeletons speak in the font they're named after, hands are characters in the WebDings font, as are other characters used in what is assumedly Gaster's lab-entry in the true lab.

Since one can't use the term "man" for a male monster that well in my understanding, may as well mean you.
The game goes way out of its way to use gender-neutral terms for several characters, like Frisk, Monster Kid, "Happstablook," etc. It could have very easily been "human" instead of "man." It's more than likely not the player.

This is exactly my thinking! They also call monsters woman/man based on gender even though they aren't human, as Sans calls toriel a woman at one point.
