True Lab question (spoilers)

Has been some time since I finished the game, but I forgot to ask about something. While exploring the True Lab, there's a room with a few refrigerators (I guess that's what they are?), and one of them is shaking, suggesting there's something inside. But when I checked, it told me there was nothing inside. What's the purpose of it exactly? Later I thought that could be Alphys hiding, but since it clearly said there was nothing inside... Well?

Nah. I think there might be ghost like this one in the bedroom which appers for a while.

If you go to that room when it's still dusty


and can't see anything, examining that fridge mentioned something about "it feels like there is a shape... of a man?" or something along those lines. If memory serves me correctly.

Might be nothing, though.

It's supposed to be a joke. You expect something to pop out of the shaking refrigerator, but it turns out to be nothing. Then as you're ready to enter the next room, it turns out the scary thing was in the LAST non-shaking refrigerator instead.

Oh that's interesting. I can't think of anything in the shape of a man at the True Lab... Kinda mysterious.

Makes me wonder now, is one of the shaking fridges one of the ones with samples in it? As in, samples of other amalgamate 'bits'? Are they semi sapient and trying to get out of their Petri dishes?

I wondered what it was when I saw it, when that note reffered to something cold I figured, "oh, fridges" and I kept trying to search the shaking one to no avail. When I saw the amalgamate and got the blue key in the end it kinda made sense, since that thing at one point was the wife of the comedian at MTT.

It was likely a bait and switch to make you think the fridge is the hint behind the key or something like that. It's still kinda creepy because it makes you think about what exactly is causing the fridge to shake like that, even though it's clearly stated to be empty.
