Does buying from the spider bakesale end a genocide run?
Went back and bought a few things from the bakesale while trying for a genocide run, random encounters stopped and all the npcs disapeared.

NPCs disappearing is because they happen to be corpses. :flowey:

This means encounters happen less often.

Spider bakesale should have nothing to do with it.

Yeah but the veggies were there, I went to buy stuff, no random encounters on the way back, but they were gone when I went to kill them.

All npcs are gone on a genocide run as they have evacuated because of you.

Just to clarify, still in the ruins, 40 minutes since my last encounter. 40 MINUTES.

Did you kill the froggit you encounter when Toriel escorts you?

Yeah.

Keep going looking in the dark areas the last enemy should appear one way or another.

I dont have any tips to give you besides going up and down the corridor just outside the monster candy door as this worked for me.

When you press the save thing, did it say a number?
And did it say just "Determination" after that or blablabla fill you with determination?

Once you reach Toriel's house it stops the Genocide run if you haven't already got the music change. If you just sit and farm in the room south of monster candy it should take 20-25 mins for, but nobody came to appear.

For snowdin: Its the village (some say Papyrus, but just to be safe)
Waterfall: basically I would suggest farming in the area to the right of Napstablook's house, where the Aarons spawn and there's leaf puzzles.
Hotlands: cuts out at Mettaton. But mini bosses like the RG1/2 are counted in the number that appears. I think enemies stop appearing outright at 3-4 remaining if you farm at the first save point where there are a lot of enemies (room before the frying pan).
