Echo Flowers? (Small Spoilers)
In the Pacifist and Neutral runs, the Echo Flowers repeat conversations back to you when you talk to them. However, in the Genocide run they do not say anything. Does this mean the Echo Flowers are sentient/living? They choose not to say anything to you, afraid of what you might do? And just before Undyne corners you (when the screen goes all dark, and when the Monster Kid interrupts her charge), the Echo Flower says to you "Behind you", which I can't really see it as repeating something.

It means you murdered everyone that would normally talk around the flowers to give them something to say. )

I think a lot of this game's explination's will be "magic is as magic does". I can't say too much about plant's to avoid spoilers but the Underground is permiated with magic so It's certianly plausable that many non thinking fauna will respond to various kinds of souls. ie if you have a genocidal heart the fauna will retract their magical echo, where as they would be more open with a more pure heart.

The part that really confused me was the flowers that appear, as best I can tell, to be repeating a conversation between Asriel and the first fallen child. Like, has not one single person really spoken in front of those flowers since then? And they're located in two non-adjacent rooms but the conversation continues like nothing happened.

Plus that conversation has to have happened way before you woke up and decided if you wanted to kill everyone.

Ok, I spoilered it. Though nothing about that conversation is really spoilery; by the time you know enough of the backstory to see the hidden purpose of the conversation, you already know more than it tells you.

I mean the relationship. It's never stated in game and I my self didn't know what was going on till the end and then all the comics I had seen suddenly made sense. sorry I just don't want peopl's experiences being spoiled with too much important knowledge
