Also where did you get your information? Especially about Undyne?
Frisk is obviously one of Rambo's chosen descendants, and thus, male.
i don't know about you OP, but i kind of like being able to have a game where i don't have to choose between a boy and a girl character, and having that descion effect the plot or who or what i get to be able to access. what exactly are you trying to do with this, give the characters sexualities and then judge them for it?
i always thought that Alphys was nervous all the time because she had a social anxiety issue, mostly because of how nervous she gets about calling you, (as someone who has problems with it myself i would pretty much ♥♥♥♥ my pants if i was in her situation too) not a crush on Frisk/the player character, but you have a point with the love letter thing.
but this isn't a damn dating sim for ♥♥♥♥'s sake, it's a game about choosing whether you want to mercilessly kill the monsters or not, and the consequences based off of that. why should the character's gender be in any way even plot-relevant, let alone the entire game be "built around it"?
Also the only characters you can date are Alphys (provably bi) and Papyrus (thinks you're hitting on him cause you're wearing clothes). Those are the only two moments in the entire game that could ever possibly have any semblance of difference based on the Frisk's gender and both of them work exactly the same no matter what Frisk's gender is.
Nothing about these are serious, at all. None of the characters are even attracted to Frisk (they are a CHILD after all), so deciding Frisk's gender through their sexuality is moot anyway.
Plants have a gender silly! I BET YOU DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO ASK THE PLANT PEOPLE THEIR PRONOUNS
It's not a date, just a hangout session. It never goes into first person and says "DATING START" like with the other 2, it only does that for the faux battle fake out at the end.
It's as much as a date as any other date. Which is more of the point that i am trying to get across.
He went on the date because that was what he thought he was supposed to do, after you flirted with him. Doesn't really tell anything of his orientation.
