Hmm, might actually consider it the next time I play Undertale. I'll go for True Pacifist just cause it requires more effort than Neutral yet doesn't have as many uncomfortable spots as Genocide.

My only concern is Asriel, who is semi-competant in Bullet Hell and I only fought him once

I managed to get past Asriel just fine in the pacifist end on my first playthough of the game, it's the Flowey fight that I can't seem to get past without dying.

There would be no save file to go back to after you beat Omega Flowey. This might be further complicated if there is already a post-Genocide/Pacifist file present?

I dunno... it would definitely be interesting to see, but I can't think of how it would work.

Yes, yes he did think of that.

I haven't done it myself but I have been spoiled. Sans comments during the dinner scene if you haven't died yet. He comments during his phone call if you haven't saved (also a few other self-imposed challenges), but not just if you haven't died I believe.

Flowey says something different in his fight (instead of saying he blocked your save, he says you can't escape because you never made one) and supposedly so does Asriel (similarly, instead of just not having the power to override his save, it says something like "but never having SAVED, you don't know how").

I'm not sure how you'd get to Asriel, but if I had to guess either you'd be able to befriend Alphys after Mettaon on your second run through the game (yes you'd have to do it twice), OR there's actually no way and it's extra dialog Toby threw in just in case someone found a way.
