Exp problem: I'm lvl 5 and I haven't killed anything....
I need to know if there's some kind of bug, because I'm just starting to play this game, I've gotten to Snowden and spared EVERYTHING....and somehow I'm lvl 5...There's no way to get Exp besides killing things, unless I missed something...Anyone care to offer possible ideas why this is?...

No, that's why I'm extremely confused. My friend showed me how to spare her and the others, so no one's died....Yet I'm lvl 5 and I didn't notice it until my other friend pointed it out. Is this a glitch?...Or is there some other way to get levels?

It's ok, I made that mistake too. You'll get the opportunity to go back and correct your mistakes after your first playthrough. Be warned though, the neutral ending will really test your determination.

When your friend told you how to spare everyone... you didn't do so by beating them with a stick, did you? 'Cause that's actually killing.

Oops, wait. That't not a mistake, then. You didn't defragment the snowman or kill any vegetoids, or take too much monster candy?

I...I did take a fragment of a snowman.....Did I screw up?
Taking too much monster candy shouldn't give you EXP.

Did he offer it to you and tell you to take it with you?

Yes.
Then that's fine. Really, EXP should only be fore killing things. Are you sure you didn't eat vegetoids or something?

Nope, didn't eat any of them, only spared them >w<

Did you change anything in undertale.ini?
I honestly have no clue what could've given you EXP, then. It really doesn't matter until your second playthrough, so I'd say to just work around it, but...If it's messed up and it's going to just hand you a bunch of EXP for no reason, that can mess up a run.

Nope, though my friend says I should look through the files to make sure. I have no idea what I should even be looking at.

Yeah, that's mainly why I'm worried. I was hoping to do a pacifist run, and my friend pointed out my levels and said 'nope, you can't get that ending'

All my feels were shattered then ;w;
