Way to nullify the annoying dog and actually get the artifact!?
So my friend said something really interesting to me: She said if you give the person in the hotel room at the end of the hall a hot dog, they will give you an item that "nullifies dog magic," but she ate it and didn't experiment with it. Is it possible that if you get this item and then go back, solve the piano puzzle and check the artifact, that it might actually stop the annoying dog from stealing the artifact??

No, cause Toby said so :P

I don't think you were ever allowed to get the artifact, and I think that's the joke.

Look at this artifact.
Ancient, legendary.
Most likely contains an extraordinary power.
Probably enough to become a god!
Or even give Asriel the happy ending he deserves!
It might be the key to shattering the barrier without sacrificing human souls.
It could be the essence of Gaster, himself.
Now it's sitting right in front of you, awaiting to be claimed and used for whatever you desire!
... and the dog at it.

Did you check your inventory after the dog stole the artifact... you might have something in there that you didn't before.

Are you really that sad about having infinite healing items XP? Also infinite gold if you can be bothered to spam it up in Temmie village lol.

Haha I actually never had a very hard time with the game. I managed not to die once through the whole thing (even during the flowey boss. Only times I died was against Asgore, I died twice because I didn't want to fight and wanted to see if dying would change something), and I didn't actually know about Temmie Village on my first time through haha

right... have you done a genocide run yet? there are two bosses in genocide run which are both on a completely different level.

Not yet, not sure I can bring myself to actually kill everyone though, I got quite attached to them. Though, I am aware of sans and I probably would get dunked on very hard ;p

yes... He is easily the hardest boss in the game, he could kill Asgore, Flowey and Genocide Undyne in a 3 on 1 battle without even breaking a sweat.

I'm not quite sure it's that, it's just that he knows the inner workings of the game and abuses them to try to stop the player (His ability to rip apart dimensions and make completely absurd shortcuts, his knowledge on how turns work, his knowledge of SAVEs and timelines, attacking the SOUL outside the combat box by sending bones to the menu buttons, etc). I'm pretty sure he actually DOES deal 1 damage and has only 1 defense, yet he just dodges out of the attack and abuses the lack of invincibility frames to turn him into a beast at combat.

He's not strong, he's smart, and that's why he's so good at combat.

I said he could kill those three, I didn't say it was due to his stats or abilities. Clearly he'd out think them and his abuse of the system would make him untouchable. Also the slow and poison effects don't hurt II guess.

Yeah, Sans shortcuts are amusing. Seems that it might be some form of super speed (would explain why he is so good in dodging.)

Though since he actually takes player too via some of his shortcuts, it's not probably that.

Still, it's nice to see how that guy walks to opposite direction and calls it a shortcut.

I'd laugh so hard if the artifact turned out to have a super-involved subquest to actually obtain it, and it basically unlocked the biggest mysteries of the game, but most people laughed it off as a silly joke because an annoying dog absorbed it.

What are you going to do with a boring orb?
Infinitely-replicating items you can sell for cash are so much better.
