The Effect of Genocide when doing Pacifist Runs in the future.
... I'd like some education on it.
I heard from a friend that you can't... undo everything.

I'd like to know if I could prove otherwise (without neccessarily modifying the game outside)

... Does True Reset ... no longer beocme a "True Reset" ?

Um, well, I'd spoiler tag it but you specifically asked for this, so...

There is a difference. I won't spoil what it is. But there is ONE thing that changes in the pacifist endings. Its not immediately apparent.

But, when you see it...

A true reset will not undo the consequence(s) of completing a genocide run.

What if I dont go meet the king after defeating Sans?
...Reset then...go the kind path...
Deny the demon his wish?

You won't lose your soul, so you wouldn't see the changes in the true pacifist ending, but there may be changes in the dialog to reflect the fact that you've killed the major NPCs before. A true reset under these circumstances would more than likely wipe the slate completely clean.

If you beat sans and then reset then yes, its still undone. Its not locked in until you kill Asgore. Once you've done that, that's it. That choice remains forever and nothing short of deleting every single file and reinstalling the game will undo it.

You might get some dialogue changes if you do a plain reset though because the game remembers you killed those characters. The thing is, after you finish the genocide path by killing asgore and then selling your soul to rebuild the world, what it does IS a True Reset.

But not even a true reset will wipe away your biggest sin. That will remain forever.

Thank you.
... I have a story currently playing out in my head and I'm glad you two were able to help in doing so.

It's actually possible to undo the choice without completely deleting your game and all associated files. It's easier if you have a version not hooked to steam.

I don't know the specifics right now but there is a certain file the game creates when you complete a genocide run. On a steam-less version of the game simply deleting that file will solve the problem. On a steam version of the game you need to mess with the cloud saving a bit so that steam doesn't just put the file back whenever you delete it.

A bit of googling will reveal the specifics if anyone wants to know. It's not impossible to reverse the effects on your game at all. You will always remember what you did though.

I want to believe that, in a timeline, after killing almost everyone, there is an once of willpower left in Frisk that resets before you enter the door. Giving, not Chara a second chance, but you, to redem yourself ... But thats just my imagination.

I know what I'm doing makes me a monster, but...
I wanted to see the otherside.
Face it myself... But I guess I'll be dropping before I submit completely.

Chara gives you the choice between being his partner in destroying the world, and not helping. Both lead to the world's destruction. Only difference is A jumpscare of Chara like Here [vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net] or a full video of an alternate choice Genocide ending here instead

Something tells me that simply "Uninstalling" the game doesn't undo it, but probably messing with a file inside that says you sold your soul.

As an example, the game overwrites certain files between save states in order to make things possible like in the beginning, quitting before Flowey finishes his intro makes him talk about how rude it is to pretend like you don't know, Torriel remembering if you like Cinnimon or Buttercup flavor, or You turning around to shake san's hand before he said to.
Only concern is that if you don't know what you're doing you may recieve the ending that is an "Error handling message" or just simply see that Annoying Dog.

Why is the annoying dog called annoying dog, it is more funny than it is annoying, like during the papyrus fight.

I just attempted a genocide run, but never fulfilled the kill count in any section, making it a neutral run does that affect future runs at all?

The neutral run does affect in future runs. Some NPCs will remember what you did.
