You do have to get through about half the game before you can get that piece of armor, though. Or if you're willing to cheat, you can edit your save to make it easier for yourself.
Like, your brain just sort of acclimates, your eyes unfocus, and you go by feel.
I remember when I first played the demo, and the boss ruined me super hard. Can basically no-hit it now.
Death has very little penalty, as there are frequent save points.
Grinding is always an option.
(Unless you try the genocide route, which has the two hardest bosses by far)
It does the same thing. But it costs more for the same effect.
Hold X while moving when avoiding in bullet hell mode, it makes you slower.
The reality of bullet hell games is that the point is not to be agile, but to be precise. You do not need to be 1 feet beyond every bullet. Just one pixel is enough. It's OK to sit beside an attack.

Just keep trying. The boss fights have set patterns and you'll soon start to get the hang of it. :)
Besides, the first two bosses refuse to kill you.
