Is there any way to fully undo a genocide run?

Yes, I understand that goes completely against the entire point of the game, but I want to be able to do another true pacifist run and see the shiny happy ending as a way of recovering from killing everybody. I'll take the punishment if needbe, however.

Its not that different. Ture pacifist plays out like normal, except at the end of the run after credits it shows the main character waking up with a red glint in his eyes.

Haven't tested it myself but a lot of people are saying if you let Chara recreate the world you destroyed then delete a file called system_information_963 in your Undertale folder it should clear everything up.

Genocide changes a file in the folder, it overwrites a file that represents the soul to act as if you had your soul removed. (this is based on what I've read. apparently what you suggested works as well) but I feel like this is kind of defeating the purpose of the game.

Yes there is a way, but it also defeats the purpose of the game anyway.

How to delete the file that tells Undertale you sold your soul to the Fallen Child.

- Remove Steam Cloud support.
- Delete "system_information_963" in appdata, it's in your Username directory.
- Or just find "system_information_963" using Windows File Search and delete.

That generally works. It's also a lot easier to remove/edit save files if you're using the DRM-Free version.

you go to one of the files (forgot which one) delete every save file. Done your game has been reset to it's original pre route.

Just in case this thread shows up on google or something, which is very likely(and it's already been necro'd), I'd like to add that after you erase the world and you have a black screen there will be a file with System_information_962. Deleting this does not fix it as the game somehow still knows you should be on the black screen and will recreate the file. You have to sit through that black screen for at most, 10 minutes, then go through the dialogue, accept everything, then when everything's been restored you can delete system_information_963 and remove the consequences.
