Undertale
Anyone knows if anything special happens during a "no save" run?
Title. I'm giving it a shot right now (just entered Hotland, now buying supplies at Snowdin), but I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried it yet.

Can't wait to see Flowey's face...

There are only 3 different lines. Resetting the game doesn't actually erase old save files until you save over them, so I think you have to delete them manually to get them:

The first is when Flowey takes over your game: "Golly, if only you had a save file you could run away to... But you were just too STUPID to make one!"

The second is in the phone call from Sans in the normal ending: "It's been a while... shouldn't you SAVE?"

The last is in the fight with Asriel, where you "SAVE" the lost souls: "SAVING over Asriel's file seems like the only way to defeat him... But, having never SAVED before, you lack the power to do it." (Then it continues with the 'maybe you could save something else...' line like normal)

There aren't any other differences that I'm aware of.
♥♥♥♥ a duck. I had a feeling that making a True Reset didn't actually delete the file.

Well, I may test this out on a completely fresh computer (seeing as I can't be arsed digging through files, nor do I trust the game which has been proven to hide all sorts of insidious crap in different places to screw you over, case in point post-genocide runes), but it's still an annoying bug.

Well, I'm up to Asgore. Still no deaths. Shoop da whoop and all that. Tried to initiate the true run by backtracking to the hotel. No luck.

Only one option now. Time to give fur-face a spanking.

Also, got a creepy message from the boat lady. "Beware of the man who came from the other world".

Another Gaster reference? Or maybe she's talking about the fallen child? Eh, worry about it later.
The folks over at the Gaster dig site (the one google doc and steam guide) are pretty convinced the boat lady means him when they say that.
There were a few people that thought "Beware of the man who came from the other world" refered to So Sorry, since he litterally doesn't exist in the world except for one day of the year. Sans is also technically from another world, pretty sure he says something about "going back". It likely means hes from the surface, but even the surface is another world to those of the underground.
I have verified another person saying that the game references that in certain dialogs. However, I'm sure the Omega Flowey deleting save issue file is false. Omega Flowey will still "overwrite" the save file even if you didn't save even once.

Found some hard evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBbQGAT4IV0

Apparently Flowey "smashes" the empty save file, but still comments on the fact that you were "too stupid to make your own save file".
So, I dunno what happened with my game. Maybe doing a True Reset doesn't count.
There's some minor changes if you kill Flowey and then play without saving. Because Flowey isn't alive, he won't be there to kill Asgore. Not that it changes much, because Asgore decides that you deserve a 'happy' ending, and commits a suicide. So you can use his soul to escape.

it\s cool and all with a no save Pacifist run, but have someone ever tried a no save no death genocide run? i really would love to see what happens with this (and yes good luck doing this in one go XD but still could be cool to see if this has anything to say if you do)

I've done that, nothing changed for me so it's not really worth doing imo. :torielsad:

I'd imagine more than a few keyboards were snapped when you died halfway through XD

several people have, and when flowey closes the game you lose your save.

I don't think there's any unique lines out of it I'm afraid
So basically all your progress is lost. Well, crap.

Got any sources to back up that statement, by the way?
Don't worry. That doesnt happen. Flowey saves over you.
