Oh I could have sworn that Whimsum ran if you Terrorized him, thanks.
The thing with Froggit is that I did console compliment him..I did terrify him once in that play through and didn't bother to talk to the X frog or the fourth frog. Must be the latter that was needed.
Edit: Should I delete my comment if it was a reply to someone that deleted theirs? -_-
I think you might be on the wrong track as far as gold being a measure of how well you did, though, at least in a general sense. You seem to get just as much (if not more) for killing monsters.
There are actions that will cause an enemy to drop nothing, but how much gold you get is static depending on whether you killed or spared the enemy.
For example, Just consoling or sparing a Whimsun will make it drop 0 gold, but terrorizing it first will make it drop 2 gold. Theres no method to make someone drop "More" gold, just a way to have a few enemies drop none at all.
1. How many times do you need to "properly" spare an enemy to get their name yellow? Just once?
2. Has anyone noticed if getting all enemies yellow has any effect (likely on the next playthrough)?
1. You need to fill a certain condition once; it's not always directly related to sparing. For example, Aaron's yellow text is from putting on Spooktunes in Napstablook's house and walking back to the room with the save point where you'll get a special encounter. Shyren requires you to hum with her a bunch of times.
2. It has no effect; it's purely for completionist sake.
Actually, that's outright wrong. Icecap drops more gold if you steal the cap.
