Is it possible to do Pacifist run on your 1st run?
Still playing this right now but just want to know if its possible to get the true run your first time playing it.

Read the wikis and said that its locked and will only get the neutral run on your first play through of the game.

Just want a clear answer if you can or cannot get pacifist run first time playing it.

@Tatas Fritas oh no...oh nooooooo...you were supposed to reset after your first (neutral) run using your same name as before.Bloody hell, you've gone and erased all the data-back to square one!
So wait, if you can do all that by changing your name... And if someone like me who goes on genocide run the first time, then does changing your name also reset the whole game? (seting the dialogue to its first game)
After giving up against Sans I did some fiddling with the game files and was able to manually true reset the game and did True Pacifist, so yeah True Pacifist is possible on your first run
Technically no, since two of the required sidequests for true pacifist are locked until you complete the neutral ending at least once per every true reset.

But if you get the neutral ending without killing anyone (stay LV1 20HP) and you give Undyne the glass of water after her boss battle, you do not have to completely replay the entire game twice. As long as those two conditions are met you can backtrack at anytime to do the necessary sidequests. You will just continue your save after beating the final boss of the neutral ending.

This did not answer the question really clearly..
Is it possible without any external programs or manipulating game files? Say you have never played this and want to do the Pacifist Run your first run, is it possible? Yes or no?

You should probably look it up before necroing a year old thread.

I'd say the first answer was pretty damn clear: Even though you technically HAVE to go through the neutral ending on your first run, as long as you've killed nobody and revived Undyne when she collapses, you can just reload your save file, as opposed to playing the entire game again. No external programs or file fiddling required.

As has been said, you probably should have just searched this first :)

See? That's a clear answer mate! And yes for the second time I did search this and this was the only steam discussion I found. The reason I posted in this group is because the last post was 8th of december 2016. I scrolled through the discussion, half of the people said no and the others said yes or yes but you need a debugger and some other matrix ♥♥♥♥.

So the answer is yes, yes?

Depends on what you consider a "run". If one run for you means getting to the ending then no, you can't do it in one run because you have to reload your save after getting a neutral ending/start a new game to get to the True pacifist ending.

So you get to flowey and spare him, does it matter if you kill anyone that run?

Yes. Because in order to get to the True Pacifist ending you need to spare everybody in battles. If you didn't kill anybody, you can just reload your save file. If you did kill something, you need to play the game from the beggining and spare everybody.

Wot, well you said you can't get it on your first run? I saw my friend play (not the pacifist run), sparing flowey after the Omega Flowey battle. After sparing him flowey said something along the lines of "To prove yourself, I'll let you reset, but you have to make it back without killing a single monster.". So now he's doing the pacifist run, or will he not get the true ending? Cuz the reason I asked from the beginning was because on my first run, I killed Undyne, Asgore and Flowey, so every time I loaded up my game all I could do was fight Asgore, either kill or spare him then watch flowey kill his body and/or soul, consuming the six human souls saying "...". I then reset within the game choosing the same name as before, playing without killing a single monster and then after the Asgore battle I don't get to battle Omega Flowey, he just says "..." consuming the six souls again.

Because it's not how you get it. You need to get to the bridge in front of the CORE entrance, where Undyne will call you if you befriended her. Then she will tell you what to do next.
Pacifist and true Pacifist, while being kinda similar, are two different types of runs.

Oh.. well I have made a true reset so it will be 100% like its my first time.
Btw will my friend get pacifist or true pacifist? And the regular pacifist, do you not get to battle Asriel?
