New (to me) text in an Aaron ; ) encounter

Has anyone come across this? I'm in Waterfall, in the room where the mushrooms light up the path. I encountered an Aaron and a Woshua, and the text between turns says "Aaron is looking around, fearful of something." I haven't harmed anyone? What's he afraid of?
