Undertale isn't syncing my save data to Steam Cloud

So I wanted to keep playing Undertale while away from my desktop at home, but when I fire it up on my laptop, it just goes to the "Name the Fallen Human" screen. I've just gotten out of the Ruins, really enjoying the game so far and I want to continue. Anyone else run into this problem? And I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I'm just wary about browsing this forum because of possible spoilers.

EDIT: And yes, I did verify that "Enable Steam Cloud syncronization" was checked on both computers.

I am fairly certain that the Steam cloud doesn't store your save data. You are probably going to have to restart.

Oh does this mean I can open my steam on a family computer and download the game for them to try and it won't affect my save file? That's perfect if so

The only thing the Cloud saves is a specific file related to beating the game on Genocide. It doesn't store your save data or anything.

You could just copy-paste your undertale folder to your laptop though.

Is this even true? There's no Steam Cloud feature listed on the store page last I checked. It seems like people are just saying that to scare others out of doing Genocide runs, which is annoying.

It's true, a lot of people have confirmed that the genocide-specific file is saved to Steam cloud. And even so, it's still fairly easy to fix and hasn't scared anyone off of a genocide run yet.

I have a mac laptop that has undertale on it and just got a windows surface that I wanted to transfer the game too but am having trouble finding the file you mentioned. I can get to an AppData folder but it has nothing to do with steam

Did you look at these on the Undertale website? They tell you where your SAVE is on your computer.
