What will happen if the human stayed in the ruins
So, think about this for a sec... Toriel and the human, living together, in such a small place, with no other monsters than a bunch of froggits and talking carrots... and at first maybe everything will be fine, Toriel can be a mother, a friend and a teacher for the human, and the human will not need anything more than friends, family and education... that... until puberty.... then, the human will need a love interest because that's what usually happens, and since the human is gonna live in the ruins for all their lifes... well.... I don't think i need to say anything more.

Err, I might have to point you towards where you get the toy knife. There's a civilization in the ruins, we just never get to it on our path to Asgore. So Frisk would go there eventually if he stayed.

Well.. more than a civlization, a small town, probably where the monsters you find live, since there where no houses in the puzzles part.

Considering we know nothing about this civilization in the ruins and no one refers to them outside aside from the leader, Toriel, I guess you could say it's vaguely like Monster North Korea.

The city in the image is the old capital city of Home, and indeed it is why the area is called the ruins. Since most of the mosters moved from there to New Home when New Home was founded.

heck, maybe is not even a civilization and the reason why its called "the ruins" is because those buildings are just empty ruins

Y'know... I completely forgot about the lore in Waterfall, thanks.

Np, and as for the size from the image it appears to be a pretty large city. It did house the entire civilization of monsters before, i guess, they felt safe enough to start settling closer to the barrior. If the rating thing from mettaton's battle is anything to go by, the population could of been over 10000 monsters,

Is not as big as the one form "new home", I don't think is that big... but it's true, in that city was suposed to live the full monster race... i guess in those times, the war against humans was so awful... that at the end, there wasn't alot of monsters alive.
Maybe that's how every monster in the world is under just a mountain.

I'm saying that staying with Toriel will be a problem, because since there is no bathroom, the human will take a sh*t in the yellow flowers from the first room.

It's possible that eventually word would spread of a human living with toriel, and eventually this would cause Asgore to send Undayne, and the gaurds to recover the soul, under any means necessary. Further if the human dies of old age, their soul probably be taken by some random monster in the ruin, and sent straight to Asgore.

The only ones who will know about the human will be the monsters from the ruins... that don't leave the ruins, a ghost that i doubt it would say anything... and a skeleton that it's too lazy to say anything.
If the human dies of old age, Toriel could just leave the ruins with the Soul, give the soul to Asgore and destroy the barrier.

But how would Toriel even carry the soul? as a single touch would just make Toriel absorb the soul.
