When I try to boot up undertale, Steam says its running but no windows pops up, then it stops running after about 20 seconds.
help pls. I really want to play this game

Check your task manager maybe. Also what are your specs

I checked task manager and there is nothing undertale related on it.
also how do I find out what my system specs are

EDIT: I checked the task manager and it says leading brand undertale something

Well, believe it or not- I'm not good at this technical stuff. But if it says 'Leading Brand Undertale', then it's probably open. At the start screen, press enter before reading the whole thing. That might save you some time. Otherwise, I wont know.

what do you mean at the start screen, there IS no start screen. theres no window coming up, the lead brand undertale is under background processes.

There IS an start screen. Well, restart your computer and try it again.

so that would be the third time I have to restart it.
If the first 2 times didnt work, a third probably wont either,

I doubt it, I've looked around the internet and everyone else having this problem is on a mac, whereas I am on windows. the general course of action to solve it has been to email toby fox and ask for a non-steam version of it

ok, I've created a desktop shortcut and tried that and a window labeled TestPlatformer appeared saying: command Line option syntax error. type command/? for help.
does this ring any bells?

It's not just you. I've been having the same issue for at least a month and the non-steam version isn't helping one bit.

i might be kinda late and u can not want to play but for people still here something like deleting steam_api.dll in local files of undertale might work and u need to close steam before deleting it, and u need to open trough local files ''undertale.exe'' and it opens i had the same problem and it made it work
