What kind of flower is Flowey?

Howdy! Let's go on an adventure to find out what ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flower Flowey is

WHAT WE KNOW:

-They're always described as "golden flowers", but nothing more.
-They have thick, yellow petals.
-They're pretty small.
-They cannot be Buttercups.

Exactly, there still buttercups, Asriel / Chara could have just put these in the pie and a brang yellow one from the Surface

But those still couldn't be buttercups. Otherwise the game would call them buttercups, not just "golden flowers".

Well no one actully mentions any thing about buttercups untill the tapes, and you could say Chara is the in game voice and dosen't know the golden flowers are buttercups

They're the flowers from their home village. And Chara knows what buttercups look like, since they used them to poison themselves.

These "golden flowers" fall into the specise of daisies, sunflowers and buttercups. So Flowey could be any of those three.
