I Can't Get Hotland Kills!

I'm currently doing a genocide run and I've gotten to Hotland. I can't seem to get the last 8 kills despite doing the movement where frisk goes forward and backward on a wall (I forgot the name of this), walking around and doing the aforementioned tactic even more for at least 30 minutes now. Before you ask, I am completely on track. I have not entered Mettaton NEO's room, I have fought Undyne the Undying and I have also traversed both Hotland and CORE many times trying to get more kills. I have faced the pairs of monsters on that one bridge, so don't suggest that. I've been playing this run for 5 hours and I would really appreciate it if there was a solution or more efficient way of finding monsters. Thanks.

Hi, try to enter the core and go to the location where the bridge seems to be where you need to farm kills

which bridge? the bridge that i mentioned?
because, im pretty sure that the monsters there are scripted only.

i got all kills in the core on the bridge left of the door where metatron makes his finial appearance

it can take up to 20+ seconds to get an encounter; since the more enemies you kill the longer it takes and since you need to kill 40 the last ones can take a long time

if you're saying it could actually take 20 seconds, then I'm definitely doing something wrong. I was there for 5 minutes.

at 25:49 you see the spot that should work, is this where you are?

The spot with metatrons door does not have random encounters.

Did you try go ahead and see if you still get the genocide Metatron cutscene?

really strange (maybe you have to defeat some enemies in hotland?) Is there a limit in the core?

this is, in fact, really strange. mettaton neo has just appeared, yet i have 8 more kills to do? i will update if it goes back to neutral after mettaton neo

ok, so its gone back to neutral after mettaton neo. i have the normal forggits and whimsums telling me the whole story. really strange.

that is really strange,
maybe tried backing up your safe and reinstalling undertale
or runnign it as admin?
did you check the hotlands wether these areas might still spawn enemies?

Maybe you just "drained" the core and hotlands has enemies left

no! it works now! im so happy that it works. when i did this yesterday, no monsters came after 5 minutes. now? theyre coming every minute, and i have the nobody came message. im so happy! thanks for suggesting me this place to grind.
